Ukrainian Go

There’s a young Ukrainian boy staying at my father’s for the holidays, and as we don’t speak more than a few words of each other’s language, we make it up by playing board games. As it’s extremely difficult to explain the rules of a game in a language you don’t speak, we finally invented a brand new (and quite simplified) version of the Japanese go game. It must have been quite successul, because he doesn’t look homesick at all anymore, and now I have to learn Ukrainian in record time if I want to keep up with his conversation…

In the meanwhile, merry Christmas to you all!
